A family in Florida found relief on January 31 after learning that their 19-year-old daughter was safely found in Enterprise. Enterprise Police Chief Bradley McNeece found the young girl after responding to a call he received.
“Somebody called in and said a female was walking down Highway 11,” explained McNeece. “I got out with her in front of the clinic. After talking to her for a few minutes, she told me that she was not from here and that she had been dropped off at the Dollar General. She proceeded to say that she is from Miami and had been trying to get back home and that she had not been there in months.”
He looked into it more to try and contact her family.
“I did a little more digging and asked her if she knew what her parents’ numbers were. She gave me their numbers, and I made contact with her parents,” continued McNeece. “Her parents said that she in fact had been missing and had filed missing person’s reports. She had been away from home for about a year but had not had any contact with her parents for the last several months. They were willing to come pick her up since we found her.”
Once it was arranged for her parents to pick her up, the girl was taken to a safe facility to stay in.
Her family experienced some problems and was unable to come get her, but some citizens in the community assisted in getting her home. Anthony Chancelor purchased a bus ticket for her, and Ryan Holloman gave her a ride to the bus station.
“That’s somebody’s daughter, and we just did what we could to get her home,” stated Anthony.
A call was received to let everyone know that she has safely made home.
