It was a sloppy, muddy night Friday as Quitman played host to laurel in the Mississippi Classic game. After the weather set the game back to 7:30, the rain began to clear and football was ready to be played.

Ole Miss fired head football coach Matt Luke Sunday night.  Speculation was the new Ole Miss Chancellor Glenn Boyce was not happy with how Luke handled the Elijah Moore unsportsmanship like conduct penalty in the final seconds of the Egg Bowl. Ole Miss will owe Luke and his staff almost $15 million in contract buyouts.
