William Odell Haney, Sr., 82, of Stonewall, Mississippi, passed away on March 26, 2020, at his residence. 

He was born on March 23, 1938, to Chalis and Lucy (Dew) Haney in Clarke County, MS.

Five of our local men have been deployed with the Army National Guard, 1/204 Air Defense Artillery Battalion out of Newton, MS. 2LT. Edward Kramer of Quitman and Staff Sgt. Randy Harper was deployed Saturday, March 7, to Eastern Europe to support the U.S.

Sheila Gail Williams Castle, 69, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on March 6, 2020, at her residence.  She was born on July 8, 1950, to J.C. "Pete" and Lou (Williams) Williams in Lauderdale County, MS. She was a member of Barnett Independent Church.

Betty June Downs, 84, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on March 16, 2020, at Rush Hospital in Meridian, MS.   

She was born on March 1, 1936, to Jim and Mildred (Padgett) Downs in Stonewall, MS.
