Changes at the Local Freds Super Dollar Store

With the closing of the 159 Fred's locations, many have been wondering what would become of the Fred's located on Main Street in Quitman.  David Majure, President of Majure Retail Group released the following statement this morning to the community:

We are super excited to announce the upcoming changes to the Freds Super Dollar and Pharmacy located on Main Street in Quitman. With the significant changes to healthcare in the past decade and with more changes expected thru governance involvement, medicare expansion and technological advances, we believe we are well positioned to assist the citizens of the Quitman area with those changes. THE PHARMACY wants to help our patients navigate an increasingly complex and costly healthcare system, particularly with respect to medications. An extensive remodel will take place in the coming months that will help us create a private Clinical and Administrative area for the purpose of accessing and communicating with our individual patients. Also, included in the remodel will be an expanded waiting area that will make our customers experience more comfortable with TV, WIFI and complimentary concessions.

In relation to the overall store size we intend to downsize several departments while eliminating those that no longer fit in our longterm objectives but customers can expect to find expanded health & beauty aids, ethnic department, seasonal department, snack and groceries, pet, basic paper and cleaning items and closeouts. Yes, customers will have the opportunity to find a treasure hunt deal on Closeouts from other retailers that we import into the store. Our Mission at THE PHARMACY is to provide exceptional healthcare service while being a blessing to the community as well as our employees.
