Father, Daughter Killed in Friday Accident

Two Clarke County residents were killed in a Friday afternoon accident in Lauderdale County on Highway 45 South near The Outpost. The two-vehicle accident claimed the life of Jeremy Wade Oliver, 40, and his daughter, Auttumn Jade Williams, 18, both of Quitman. Oliver and Williams were in a 2002 Ford Mustang driven by Janet Frazier of Meridian.

The Mustang failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by a Ford F-150 that was pulling a trailer. The truck was unable to stop in time. Williams was ejected from the impact and died on scene. Oliver was transported to a Meridian hospital, where he died of injuries sustained in the accident. Frazier and the driver of the truck were both transported to a hospital with injuries.

Traffic was diverted to another route for over an hour. Clarkdale Fire Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol and Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department assisted the accident.

Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident. Accident reconstruction officers were on scene Monday to investigate the accident scene.
