Funeral services for Charlie “Santa Claus” Southern will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 12:00pm at Stonewall Town Hall. Burial in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Snell. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Southern, 54, died on Sunday, April 1, 2018. He served his community at the Stonewall 6 with Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department.  He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed by his family. He was known as the Santa Claus and always helpful to those in need and never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Southern; grandparents: Grady and Mamie Doggett; uncle, Rev. Jerry Doggett; a great niece and great nephew.

He is survived by wife, Betsy Southern; mother, Shelby (Ray) Haney; children: Latishia (Brian) Quinn; Brandi Southern; Dennis “C.J.” Southern, Jr.; Magan (Chase) Rayner; Loretta Edwards and Faith Edwards; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild on the way; his sisters: Renea (Curtis) Andrews; Latricia (William) Abston; Dyna (Steve) Lewis; brother, Scott (Lynn) Haney; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 5th from 10:00 to 12:00 at Stonewall Town Hall.
