Eddie L. Wallace

Mr. Eddie L. Wallace, youngest son of the late Elmo and Mamie Wallace, was born September 21, 1952, in Shubuta, MS. He attended Shirley Owens High School in Quitman, MS. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and attended Cokes UMC where he served faithfully as the chairperson on the Steward Board. He was also president of the Community Cemetery.

Eddie was employed at EMEPA in Quitman for over 20 years until his health failed.

He departed his life Friday, November 19, 2018, surrounded by family members.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Betty Wallace; loving mother Mamie Wallace; one son, Marvin (Angela) Wallace; two daughters, Victoria Wallace and Regina (Galen) Taylor; an adopted son, Isaiha Wallace; five grandchildren: Kendra Wallace, Robert McDougle, Marvin M. Wallace, Marvion M. Wallace and Patoria McDougle; one sister Delois (Leslie) Simpson; six sisters-in-law: Doris (Memphis) Johnson, Clara Ditty, Ethel (James) Johnson, Lola Mae (Larry) Wilson, Mary (Ronnie) Trotter, Shirley House; five brothers-in-law, Percy (Betty) House, Walter (Lora Ann) House, Frank (Alberta) House, Jimmy (Dorothy) House; God mother Kate Turner Gray; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends that loved him dearly.

A Homegoing Celebration was held Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church of Vossburg, MS, with Rev. Willie Kinslow officiating. Interment was held at Cokes Chapel Cemetery. Repast was held at Cokes Chapel UMC Fellowship Hall.

Pallbearers were: David Heidelberg,  Percy Carpenter, Lester McCarty, Jerry Heidelberg, Fred McCoy and Prentis Nobles.

The family is eternally thankful for the many acts of love and kindness shown to them during this time of loss. Your concern has been a source of strength and shall always be remembered.
