James “Jim” Otho Stockman

James “Jim” Otho Stockman, 75, of Enterprise, MS, passed away on December 7, 2019.

He was born on March 22, 1944, and was a lifelong resident of Enterprise.

Jim was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. He had a passion for church, family, flowers, and antiques. He was a very forgiving person who loved everyone and always looked for the positive in any situation. He was a caregiver to many sick and elderly friends in the surrounding community.

Jim served as Postmaster in Enterprise for many years until his retirement.

Jim was a lifelong member of Enterprise United Methodist Church as well as a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Sylvia Harper of Stonewall; his children, Angie Williams (Glenn), Amy Tucker, Joey Stockman, and Cindy Stockman, all of Enterprise; seven grandchildren, Marisa Raspberry, Chelsy James & Dillon, Kelsy Tucker, Brooklynn Tucker, Haley Stockman, Gavin Williams and Jake Williams; three great-grandchildren, Brayden James, Braxton James and Olivia Cook; niece Ashly Buckley, great-niece, Kari Dyess; and several dear lifelong friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otho & Myrtis Stockman; sister, Patsy Buckley; daughter, Dodie Raspberry; sons-in-law, Chris Raspberry and Roy Tucker; grandson, Marcus Herrington; and his dear friend, Michael Elfring.

Visitation was held Sunday, December 15, 2019, after 5 p.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home in Quitman, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at Enterprise United Methodist Church, 100 River Road Enterprise, MS 39330. Services were held at 12 :00 p.m. at Enterprise United Methodist Church.  Burial followed at Enterprise Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Rick Lewis, Steve Dyess, Mike Gunn, Steve Helms, Bo Cook, and Dillon James.
