Joseph Kenneth Byrd

Joseph Kenneth Byrd, 92, of Stonewall, MS, passed away on February 2, 2019, at his residence.  He was born on July 16, 1926, to Joe and Mattie (McKinney) Byrd in Springhill, AL.

Mr. Byrd was a Veteran of the US Navy where he served during World War II.  He also retired as an Assembly of God Minister.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Katie Nell Byrd; two daughters, Marcia Dunnam, and Sharon (Mark) Cox; six grandchildren, Benjamin Dunnam, Brent (Connie) Kennedy, Lance (Simi) Kennedy, Kayla (Justin) Wilson, Jessica Cox, and Megan (Charlie) Calton; ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mattie Byrd; two brothers; and four sisters.

Visitation was held Tuesday, February 5, 2019, 12:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, MS. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 5, 2:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Shoemaker, Troy Dew, and Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Burial took place in the Stonewall Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mark Cox, Benjamin Dunnam, Brent Kennedy, Lance Kennedy, Mark Smith, and Nick Ulmer.
