William Ray Thead

William Ray Thead, 91, of Quitman, MS, passed away on November 2, 2018, at H. C. Watkins Memorial Hospital. 

He was born on October 24, 1927, to Clyde and Onetta Merle (Carmichael) Thead in Clarke County, MS. He was a member of Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Ray is survived by his son, Mark (Wanda) Thead; daughters, Brenda (Gerry) Ishee and Martha (Tommy) Hamrick; brother, Bobby (Maxine) Thead; six grandchildren, Angie Holmes, Laurie (Chris) Easterwood, John (Kelly) Ishee, Chris Hamrick, Dustin (AnnaLaurie) Hamrick, and Kristen (Ryan) Norton; five great grandchildren, Abigail Ellzey, Addison Easterwood, Luke Ishee, Holden Ishee, and Isaac Norton; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Riley Thead; parents, Clyde and Onetta Merle Thead.

Visitation was held Saturday, November 3, 2018, 5:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman. Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 4, 2018, 3:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Adams and Rev. Mark Thead officiating. Burial took place in the Manassa Cemetery.

Pallbearers was John Ishee, Chris Hamrick, Dustin Hamrick, Chris Easterwood, Ryan Norton, and Hank Gandy.
