Stonewall Receives Best Water Award

Mayor Jerry Rich and Water Manager Mike Robinson are pleased to announce the Town of Stonewall received a third place for the Best Water in Mississippi from the MS Rural Water Conference.

Robinson explained, “Recently I attended the MS Rural Water Conference in Jackson for water re-certification.  I took tap water from Stonewall with me and entered it into the contest.”

Three judges sampled each entry and chose Stonewall as having some of the best water in Mississippi.

Robinson’s job at Stonewall is both water and wastewater management.  He tests the water daily to be sure it meets water quality requirements.  In addition, weekly water samples are sent to Jackson and an annual audit confirms the water quality inspections.

According to Rich, “Since Mike has been with us, we have had five years of getting the highest rating for our drinking water.”  Rich acknowledged Mike’s dedication to providing the town quality drinking water, and both men express that it is a team effort with everyone from the office staff, maintenance department, and the board contributing to the success of the small community.
