Meridian Inmates Will No Longer Be Held in Clarke County

The last day that the Clarke County Jail will house inmates for the Meridian Police Department will be July 7, 2026.

According to Sheriff Anthony Chancelor, the decision was made after looking into what would benefit Clarke County the most.
