No. 2 Jones College and East Mississippi needed nearly eight hours to complete their baseball doubleheader on Saturday at Gerald Poole Field.

Jones outlasted EMCC, 20-19, in a four-hour, 26-minute game one and squandered a 5-1 lead in the sixth to get walked-off, 6-5, in eight innings in a lengthy nightcap.

As of February 2026, Quitman Sports Hall of Fame, Inc. was officially established and is one of the first of its kind in East Central Mississippi.

The organization was created by Dr. Howard Bartee, Jr. as a way to recognize deserving athletes and coaches in Quitman throughout the years.
