The 9th Annual Stop the Violence Rally in memory of Bruce O’Bryant Dear will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Sumrall Park in Quitman, MS.
At 9:30, everyone will meet at the Clarke County Courthouse and will walk to Sumrall Park in Quitman, MS. Everybody intending to walk needs to be in line by 9:30 a.m. The walk will start at 10:00, but you do not have to walk with the hot weather; you can ride in your vehicle if you would like.
Once everyone arrives at Sumrall Park, the program will begin, allowing family members (mothers, fathers, siblings, etc.) of victims lost to violence to tell their stories. Guest speakers will also include law enforcement, county/city officials, and church administrators.
There will also be free food, drinks, and activities for the children.
