Alice Ruth White, 94, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on October 4, 2022, at her residence. She was born on May 30, 1928, to Herman and Esther (Smith) Doherty in Crandall, Mississippi.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Ruth Diane Champion; four grandchildren, Sonya (Jay) Tyrney, Allison (Jacob) Cuevas, Rachael (Jackie) Albritton and Matthew (Tammy) Champion; nine great-grandchildren, Brooklyn (Cody) Whigham, Ciarra Cuevas, Colton Albritton, Chase Albritton, Cameron Albritton, Brittany Conner, Blaise Champion, Justin Mayo, and Danielle (BJ) Wilson; and four great-great grandchildren, Cooper Whigham, Kevin Pittman, Everett Wilson, and Nathanial Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Herman Doherty; mother, Esther Lee Smith Doherty; husband, Royce Lindbergh White; son, Gary Roy White; brother, Otis L. Doherty; and nephew, Glen Doherty.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at the East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Rasberry officiating.
