In Loving Memory of Alisa “Lisa” Bennett
August 6, 1964 - June 25, 2026
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and wife, Alisa “Lisa” Bennett, 61, passed away on June 25, 2026, in Jackson, Mississippi. Lisa was born on August 6, 1964, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to Glenda and Thomas McCoy.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Glenda; her brother, Kevin McCoy (Renee); and her precious granddaughter, Amelia Crowell.
She is survived by her husband, Dwaine Bennett; her daughters, Lauren Storey (Ryan) and Ashlee Bennett Zhao (Leon); her cherished grandsons, Marshall and Elliott Storey; her father, Thomas McCoy (Wendy); and her father-in-law, Howard Bennett (Deborah).
Lisa was the true heart of our home and family. Married for 42 years to her husband, Dwaine, she was also a fiercely proud mother to her two daughters, Lauren and Ashlee.
Lisa lived a life marked by creativity, determination, generosity, and a deep, steadfast love for her family. She had a rare gift for seeing possibility and beauty in everything. In her earlier years, she channeled this entrepreneurial spirit into her house painting business, crafting homemade candles, and restoring antiques alongside Dwaine for her store, Deja Vu.
Lisa had a special way of making everyone around her feel valued. Her daughters knew that a phone call from Mom would almost always begin with the familiar, enthusiastic words, "Wanna hear something funny?" followed by a story or a shared laugh. Her laughter was contagious, her heart was generous, and her love was unconditional. Whether through cherished holiday traditions or elaborate birthday celebrations, Lisa knew exactly how to turn an ordinary day into something colorful and magical—a legacy that will live on forever through her daughters.
As "Nanny," she absolutely adored her grandchildren, Amelia, Marshall, and Elliott. She filled their days with home-cooked meals, endless laughter, and unconditional love, treasuring every single moment spent with them.
Though her family deeply grieves her loss, they find comfort in the countless beautiful memories she created and the profound love she leaves behind. She will forever be remembered, forever be missed, and forever be loved.
Please join us as we gather to celebrate Lisa's life, share stories, and remember the special moments we were fortunate to have with her.
