The East Mississippi Regional Library is hosting an America 250 Block Party at the Quitman Public Library on Thursday, September 10, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This great event is free for all ages and will have a variety of stuff. There will be giant outdoor games, a lemonade chugging contest, pie eating contest, bouncy house, a StoryWalk, and face painting.
About every 30 minutes, children’s stories will be read to kids. There will be information stations and displays for Mississippi Library Commission, Magnolia, Quitman Public Library, VFW, American Legion, and DAV.
There will be musical entertainment as well. The National Anthem will be performed by Chance Evins. Music will also be provided by the Navy Color Guard, Enterprise High School band, and Quitman High School band.
There will also be free grilled hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, and cookies as long as they last.
Come out and join them for this free semi-sesquicentennial celebration!
