Historic Clarke County Has Not Paid City of Quitman Any Rent

According to the November 7 board meeting, as of October 1st the City of Quitman has not received a rent payment from Historic Clarke County (HCC) for the GM&O Boxcar rent.

Mayor Steve Watkins asked City Clerk Naomi Shepherd to inform the board of an update on HCC.

Issues With Box Bridge in Shubuta

Quitman Police Officer Terminated

On Sunday, September 17, John Tyler Diamond was terminated from his duties at Quitman Police Department.

He was serving as a patrol officer and narcotics investigator.

According to a post made on Facebook, Diamond was allegedly sending inappropriate messages to a minor.
