Billy Gene Wimberly, 74, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on October 1, 2026, at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham, AL.
He was born on November 1, 1951, to Johnny and Alice (Oneal) Wimberly in Shubuta, MS.
Billy is survived by his wife, Sandra Wimberly; sister, Carole Sykes; sister-in-law, Sharon Smith; brother-in-law, Charles Earl Duke; nephew, Chris Robinson; nieces, Lisa Turner, Ginger Sirkin, Angie Sykes (Joey) Rutherford, Holly Sykes (Brian) Rhodes, and Michelle (Rick) Naylor; great-nephew, Laken Robinson; great-nieces, Madison Cunningham, Sara (Trey) Hopper, and Katelin Rhodes; and great-great-nephew, Donald "Ford" Lanier Hopper IV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Albert and Alice Virginia Wimberly; brother, George Wimberly; and nephew, "Little" George Wimberly Jr.
Graveside services were held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Cooper's Chapel Church Cemetery, with Mike Williams officiating.
Burial took place in the Cooper's Chapel Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Richardson, Steve Odom, Joey Rutherford, Chris Robinson, and Laken Robinson.
