Hilary Jaén (Panama) scored twice and Haley James (West Jones) added a goal late as No. 4 Jones blanked the Bears to open conference play.

Jaén scored in the 11th minute and Jones controlled the match from there.
The Bobcats allowed just two Bear shots-on-goal, both of them saved by Jona Hennings (Germany). Former Bobcat Abigayle Green had 10 saves for Southwest.
Possibly the goal of the year for Jones came in the 54th minute to extend the lead to 2-0. Gemma Whitchurch (England) kicked a ball over to Celine Ottah (Nigeria) who back-heeled it to Jaén for the finish.
James scored her second career goal, both coming this season, in the 87th minute off another Ottah feed.

Loïc Thomas’ (Mauritius) first career goal lifted No. 6 Jones over Southwest Friday night in the MACCC opener.
The Bobcats improved to 5-1-1 overall, 1-0 in conference play and have now won 11 straight over the Bears. Southwest took its first loss to fall to 3-1-2, 0-1.
Emotions ran high all night in a physical match that included 26 combined fouls and three cards, in addition to an ejection to Southwest's Jason Dykes late in the match.
Scoreless into the break, Jones turned up its offensive attack the final 45 minutes.
After just three shots in the opening half, Jones fired 10 in the second and found the game-winner in the 54th minute on Thomas' goal. Taylor Richardson’s (United Kingdom) shot skipped past the Bear keeper and Thomas caught it on the deflection.
Southwest managed four shots on goal and Joshua Goodwin (Oak Grove) topped all four for his first career clean sheet.
Jones continues a four-match road trip Tuesday at Hinds (4-1-1, 1-0). Kickoff set for 7 p.m. in Raymond.
