The Jones College tennis teams posted a pair of MACCC victories here on a cold, blustery Friday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
The No. 12 Bobcat women won, 6-3, while the No. 15 Jones’ men took an 8-1 decision over the Eagles.
Jones visits Holmes for a 1 p.m. match on Monday and will travel to Copiah-Lincoln and Southwest for matches on Tuesday. The Bobcats will host Hinds at 2 p.m. on Feb. 24.

The Bobcats won two of the doubles’ points as they improved to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the league.
Maggie Savell (Park Place Christian Academy) and Allie Johnson (Hernando) defeated Kamryn Rodriguez and Ruthie Storment, 8-4, in No. 2 doubles and Michaela Anderson (Tupelo) and Reagan Salter (Lewisburg) blanked Julia Blackledge and Macey Hill, 8-0, in No. 3 doubles. In No. 1 doubles, Guadalupe Tocci (Argentina) and Daniela Tovar (Venezuela) dropped a 4-8 decision to Ana Julissa De Mata and Isabella Quintero.
Savell whipped Rodriguez in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0 and Johnson defeated Hill in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Anderson downed Storment in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1, and Annalynn Housley (Nettleton) beat Cali Grace Davis in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Tocci fell to De Mata in No. 1 singles, 5-7, 4-6 and Tovar lost to Quintero in No. 2 singles, 0-6, 0-6.
Meridian (3-4) plays at Dillard (Louisiana) on Saturday and hosts East Central on Tuesday.

Wallace Brewer (Germantown) and Tomi Nader (Argentina) defeated Sebastian Hernandez and Loic Hiss in No. 1 doubles, 8-4. Charlie Brady (Australia) and Tanner Bevard (Sacred Heart) downed Will McCullough and Parker Lyons in No. 2 doubles, 8-2. Jackson Peoples (Northwest Rankin) and Dawson Do (Northwest Rankin) shut out Nathan Smith and Denzel Jones in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Brewer downed Hiss in No. 2 singles, 7-6, 6-2 and Brady whipped McCullough in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Peoples beat Lyons in No. 4 singles, 7-6, 6-2 and Do defeated Jones in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-3. Hudson Hans (Moss Point) whipped Smith in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Nader lost a close decision in No. 1 singles to Hernandez, 6-4, 5-7, 6-10.
Meridian (5-3) goes to Dillard (Louisiana) on Saturday and hosts East Central on Tuesday.
