Jones College women's soccer continued a strong tradition of sending players on to the next level, with six more sophomores making it official on April 30.
Under longtime head coach Dolores Deasley, the Bobcats have had 65 players sign to the next level, 20 alone over the last three seasons.
Avery Saulter and Jewel Hamilton are headed to Tennessee Wesleyan, Jona Hennings to Stony Brook, Mary Bradley McCardle to Belhaven, Abby Sheriff to Truett McConnell and Boo Mills to William Carey.
"With a strong tradition of winning and preparing our athletes for that next step-up in their game, we always fulfill our promise to secure quality opportunities when moving on from Jones," Deasley said. "No one will work harder for these women than our staff here at Jones and the numbers of ladies moving on to four-year colleges is solid proof of that."
Saulter, a midfielder/forward, played in 29 career games for the Bobcats with 17 starts. She scored six goals and added three assists for 15 career points and also helped JC post 14 shutouts.
Off the pitch, Saulter is a two-time member of the school's academic honor roll and an NJCAA All-Academic Second Team selection.
Hamilton, a midfielder, will join Saulter in Athens, Tennessee. Hamilton played in 31 career matches for the Bobcats with 14 starts, scoring four goals with three assists. She was on the pitch for 16 shutouts for Jones.
Hamilton is a three-time honoree on the school's academic honor roll, Academic All-MACCC and NJCAA All-Academic Second Team.
Hennings, a keeper out of Brake, Germany, went 17-2-1 over her JC career and allowed just 10 goals. She posted nine shutouts, 55 saves and a .846 saves percentage. A Second Team All-MACCC selection as a freshman, Hennings was named Most Valuable Defensive Player in the NJCAA Tournament after going 4-0 with three shutouts.
Hennings is a three-time President's List member at Jones, Distinguished Academic All-MACCC and NJCAA All-Academic First Team.
McCardle played in 23 matches over two seasons with a pair of starts her sophomore year. She scored four goals with two assists. The Ellisville native and South Jones High School product is a three-time honoree on the school's academic honor roll and an Academic All-MACCC selection.
Sheriff started 15 games her freshman season but would be limited to six games as a sophomore with an injury. She scored nine goals and added nine assists over 20 career starts with a pair of game-winners.
The Wrexham, Wales, native was Distinguished Academic All-MACCC and a three-time member of the school's academic honor roll off the pitch.
Mills, a sophomore defender out of Loughton, England, started in 31 of 35 career games played and was part of 18 shutouts. She had her lone goal against East Mississippi her freshman season and added seven career assists.
The two-time All-MACCC selection is also a three-time honoree on the school's President's List and Distinguished Academic All-MACCC.
"We are extremely proud of the current class of graduates and all of the women currently representing Jones women's soccer in conferences all over the country and in leagues around the world," Deasley continued.
The sextet led Jones to its first-ever NJCAA Division II National Championship in 2023 and a 28-5-2 record over two seasons.
