Jones College finished fourth in the 11-team Northeast Mississippi Community College Spring Invitational here Tuesday at Shiloh Ridge Golf Club.
The Bobcats posted a 309-304 – 613, 37-over par. Mississippi Gulf Coast won the event with a 289-289 – 578, plus-two. East Central was second at 306-295 – 601, plus-25 and Northeast Mississippi was third with a 308-300 – 608, plus-32.
JC’s Kieran Morris (Ireland) posted a 72-72 – 144, even-par, to finish in a three-way tie for third. He was named to the All-Tournament Team. Bobcat Sebastian Nowak (Germany) shot a 77-73 – 150 (plus-6) to finish in a tie for 13th. Ty Herrington (Northeast Jones) posted a 78-77 – 155 (plus-11) and tied for 21st. Dustin Walters (Northeast Jones), playing as an individual, had an 86-80 – 168, Connor Phillips (East Central) shot 82-88 – 170 and Jacob Creel (South Jones) had a 90-82 – 172.
East Central’s Jamie Stace was medalist with a 75-66 – 141, 3-under par. MGCCC’s Will Burnham was second with a 73-70 – 143, 1-under par. East Mississippi’s Carter Martin shot 73-71 – 144 and MGCCC’s Jackson Wise had a 73-71 – 144 to tie Morris for third place.
The next tournament will be the Lou Hart Invitational March 25-26 at Northwood Country Club in Meridian.
