A bridge on County Road 511 in the Crandall/Theadville communities will close in August for replacement.
The construction on the new bridge is expected to last for approximately one year. While the Clarke County Board of Supervisors apologize for the inconvenience the bridge closure may cause, they are certain that the new bridge will be worth it.
The new bridge will be a five span bridge that should straighten the curve, and the structural integrity of the current bridge is too dangerous to leave it as it is, so closure is necessary.
While work is being done to construct the new bridge, citizens in the area will need to be prepared to take alternate routes.
The following are possible alternate routes that can be taken:
To Quitman – CR 511 to CR 638, CR 638 to CR 630, and CR 630 back to CR 511
To DeSoto – CR 511 to CR 638, CR 638 to CR 630, and CR 630 to CR 690
CR 650 to CR 670
