In June of 2020, a structure fire at Bridge Street Grill caused the restaurant to close for renovation. Since then, restaurant owner Shane Simmons has diligently been working to make the necessary repairs so that the restaurant can open again.
Now, all of that hard work is beginning to pay off, and there are plans to reopen Bridge Street Grill in the next month.
“We are in the process of getting everything repaired,” stated Shane Simmons. “We are hoping to be open sometime next month. We have about a month’s worth of work to be ready to open, but we’re hoping to be open sometime in May.”
Since the majority of the damage from the fire was from smoke and heat, they have had to do a lot of renovations to the interior of the building.
“We had to gut the entire restaurant as far as everything off the wall and ceiling. Everything had to be torn out,” explained Simmons. “We’ve had to replace everything in the restaurant from fire or smoke damage. All new air conditioning systems had to be put in. All of the appliances had to be replaced. We’re working on putting new flooring down.”
They are also working to add something new to the restaurant soon: a bakery.
“We have plans to put a bakery in. We’re still trying to find the equipment we need to do that, but we have future plans for a bakery,” declared Simmons. “We may be open for regular meals like we were before we can get the bakery up and running, but we do have plans for the future for a bakery to sell donuts and that type stuff.”
With all of the work that is steadily being completed on the building, residents can look forward to eating at Bridge Street Grill again very soon.
