The Enterprise Bulldogs hosted the Magee Trojans for the first round of the playoffs in the biggest game of the year.
The Bulldogs kicked off the game with a bang as Junior Jackarius Pickens broke away for a long rushing touchdown and good PAT. The first quarter ended with Enterprise taking a 7-0 lead.
The second quarter started off with a high snap going over the punter's head, which was then recovered by the Magee defense for a touchdown and good PAT. Enterprise drove down the field but fumbled, and the Trojans recovered and took the fumble back for a touchdown but missed PAT. Enterprise and Magee entered the half with the Trojans taking a 13-7 lead.
The third quarter ended how it started, a defensive battle that left both teams scoreless.
The Bulldogs kicked off the fourth with Senior Trace Roy making a field goal to cut the Trojan lead to three. Enterprise made another big stop on defense and dove down the field to set up a field goal with eight seconds left. The final game tying kick was muffed and the Magee Trojans took the upset win in round one 13-10.
Despite the tough loss, the Bulldogs gave an incredible fight against one of the best teams they have faced all year. Congratulations to the Football, Cheer, and Band seniors for yet another unforgettable season which saw the Bulldogs finish 8-2 overall and second in district. The lights at L.J. Davis Field shut off for the last time on Friday night this season, but now Head Coach Kelly Jimmerson and the football staff will prepare for kickoff in August of 2023. Go Dawgs!
