With the streets of Enterprise covered in toilet paper, the Bulldogs were ready for their annual homecoming kickoff. In the past three seasons Enterprise has dominated their homecoming game and looked to keep the ball rolling against the Stringer Red Devils.
The Bulldogs typical run heavy offense shocked the crowd with a massive 35 yard pass completion from Senior Cooper Galyean to Senior Jacob Lee to start off the game. Once again, the star Senior QB Cooper Galyean airs one out to Senior Isaiah Baum for a 25 yard completion to put Enterprise at the Red Devil 14. To cap off the explosive opening drive for the Bulldogs, Senior Trace Roy goes untouched into the endzone and kicks a good PAT to put Enterprise up by 7. Not only did Enterprise’s offense come ready to play, but so did the defense as they shut down the Red Devils on their opening drive to force a punt. Junior Jackrius Pickens keeps the high-speed offense going with a 40 yard dash to take the bulldogs back to the Stringer Red Zone. Trace Roy once again plows through the Red Devil defensive line for his second straight touchdown of the game and kicks yet another good PAT. Stringer puts together a penalty riddled drive and punts the ball away giving the Bulldogs yet another chance to score. Trace Roy fights his way to the goal line off of a 5 yard rush and kicks a good PAT. With Enterprise on their own 22 yard line and 58 seconds remaining in the first quarter, Junior Harris Burt makes a huge run for a touchdown and a good PAT to make it a 28-0 lead over Stringer at the end of the first.
With no signs of slowing down, Cooper Galyean throws one to Jacob Lee who takes it to the house on the first drive of the 2nd quarter to stretch the lead to 35. The Enterprise defense forces yet another punt and Clark Galyean capitalizes of the stop with a 15 yard run to put the Bulldogs up 42-0 at halftime.
The Enterprise High School homecoming court was presented at half time and Senior Claire Thornhill was crowned the 2022 EHS Homecoming Queen by principal Jordan Rodgers.
After the halftime crowning, Stringer converts a fourth and short to put them just outside of the EHS 20. The Red Devils find themselves on fourth down and go for it once again, but Clark Galyean picks it off with five minutes to go in the third. Looking for a chance to score once again, the Bulldogs let up a fumble at the EHS 20 and Stringer takes advantage to move inside the 10. The Red Devils score and manage to get a 2 point conversion to make it 42-8 going into the fourth.
The fourth quarter opened up with a 70 yard kick off return from Clark Galyean but did not lead to any success for the Bulldogs. Stringer caps off one final touchdown but misses the PAT to make it 42-14.The future of the program looks bright as Freshman Brayden Johnson makes a statement play by scoring the final touchdown of the game. The Bulldogs dominate the Red Devils for a 49-14 win on Homecoming.
Sadly however, Senior Will Grice of the Stringer Red Devils went down with a head injury and was carried off the field in an ambulance. Our thoughts and prayers from the town of Enterprise and the Clarke County Tribune go out to Will Grice and his family.
The Bulldogs put together their largest win since facing Seminary in the playoffs last season winning 42-7. The 3-0 Enterprise Bulldogs will face their toughest opponent yet when they travel to the 3-1 Quitman Panthers at 7:30 this Friday. Go Dawgs!
