The Clarke County Chamber of Commerce was elated to name Quitman Building Supply, located at 100 North Railroad Avenue in Quitman, as the Business of the Month SPOTLIGHT for July.
The business, which is owned by Larry Lofton who also has stores in Laurel, officially opened 2010 and has consistently grown over the years. They have added a variety of different sections as they have grown over the years.
Now, they proudly provide everything people need from a full building supply store. They have lumber, plywood, hardware supplies, plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, doors, windows, cord operated and battery operated power tools, grills, swings and rocking chairs, and so much more to meet all the building needs of the customers.
Although it goes by a different name, Quitman Small Engines is also a part of the business and offers full services and supplies for lawn care needs, including lawn mowers, weed eaters, and more.
While the quality products are nice, they are most known for the friendly service they provide. Employees go above and beyond to make sure that customers are able to get what they need to get the job done.
They credit their successful business to their loyal customers and dedicated staff.
“I have a terrific crew here that does a great job. I’m proud of everybody here,” proclaimed Manager Howard Crocker. “The biggest thing is that we wouldn’t be where we are today if it weren’t for our customers. We appreciate our customer base very much, and we love them.”

Congratulations on being the 2026 July Business of the Month SPOTLIGHT!
