After putting in hard work on the field, two Quitman High School football players were honored to play in the All-American Dream Bowl in Arlington, Texas, at the home of the Dallas Cowboys: Jaleil Cameron, a sophomore wide receiver, and Malik Davis, a sophomore linebacker.
In March of 2022, Jaleil and Malik participated in a football camp hosted by Recruit Nation. While there, they were tested in different areas: the 40-yard dash and pro agility. They were also able to display their talents with both offensive and defensive work along with doing one-on-one drills. After about two weeks, the top performers from the camp were selected, and their parents were notified through email with an invitation packet that included details regarding the game and all fees involved.
As top performers, everyone who participated in the All-American Dream Bowl received rings. While they were there, they had a set four-day agenda:
Day 1 – check in, media day/workshops
Day 2 – practice, both morning and afternoon
Day 3 – morning practice/ring ceremony
Day 4 – game day
Naturally, they were thrilled to have the opportunity and for everyone who has encouraged and supported them along the way.
“First, I want to thank God for allowing me to play this sport. I would also like to thank my parents for supporting me during my football career,” declared Jaleil Cameron. “The experience for me was like playing at college level. I say this because I had the chance to play with top performing kids that’s in my age group from all over the United States. The coaches were great and very helpful and knowledgeable. I had the opportunity to talking to D1 coaches. The biggest opportunity of them all was having the chance of playing football on the Dallas Cowboys field. With that being said, I am overwhelmingly excited and proud to represent my hometown. #PantherNation. Let’s go Panthers!”
Malik is also thrilled with the opportunity and everything he gained through such a unique experience.
“The experience for me was amazing,” proclaimed Malik. “The coaches were awesome. I had the chance to meet and play with some talented guys from all over the U.S. This event gave me the opportunity to put myself out there for exposure. I have created new bonds; I’ve learned life and sport lessons. I had the greatest opportunity of playing on the Dallas Cowboys field. I think I represented myself and my Panthers well.”
Congratulations Jaleil and Malik for making Clarke County proud and playing in the All-American Dream Bowl!
