On Wednesday, August 26, staff members of Congressman Michael Guest met in the Clarke County Supervisors’ board room for Constituent Services Day.
This was one of the two annual visits they make to the county to provide assistance for people who may not be able to come to one of their offices in another location.
“We try to make ourselves accessible for the constituency that may need help with federal agencies,” explained Deputy District Director Kyle Jordan. “We don’t have an office in this county, and for every county we don’t have an office in, we try to make office hours in the courthouse or city halls throughout the year. That way, constituents can come locally to get help from federal agencies.”
They assist with any issues citizens may have with a federal agency, such as IRS refunds, veteran benefits, disability, passports, and a variety of other services.
They had a VSO officer with them for part of the morning to assist with some veterans who came in to discuss issues with benefits.
Anyone who was unable to attend and speak with them at the courthouse that day can still call their office in Meridian to discuss any concerns or issues. The number for the Meridian office is 601-693-6681. The office is located in the commerce building at 200 22nd Avenue in Meridian.
