Since accepting the title as Miss Hospitality for Clarke County, Foley Doggett has been actively representing her community whenever she can.
“Since becoming Clarke County’s Miss Hospitality, I have gotten the opportunity to connect with my community in such a beautiful way,” proclaimed Foley. “I have gotten the privilege of hearing small businesses’ stories and see them flourish. I have gotten the chance to meet 46 amazing girls that grew into such a beautiful sisterhood. I’ve gotten to help this community and others in so many ways!”
She has learned many valuable lessons since taking on the title and becoming more involved to help promote Clarke County.
“Through this experience, I have learned leadership skills, grown in my public speaking abilities, and now understand Mississippi and its history as a whole in a way I never did before!” exclaimed Foley.
Recently, she was thrilled to represent Clarke County in the state competition. It was an experience she will remember for years to come.
“The recent competition was the absolute best! We got to room during the week in Southern Mississippi University’s dorms,” explained Foley. “This gave the opportunity to grow relationships with the girls, not only on stage but off stage at the dorms with helping each other get ready, prepare for interviews, the nightly devotionals, and many more ways! Aside from competition, we got the opportunity to help the community around us! Some of the ways include packaging 53,200 meals, as well as making care packages loaded with goodies and cards for cancer patients at Forrest General Hospital! This competition brought me so many friendships that I will cherish forever! This program is more than just a pageant; it’s a sisterhood, a community, and a mission to grow Mississippi and learn its culture!”
Although the state competition is now over, she still plans to represent her community as much as possible. She also encourages other young girls to compete to be the next Miss Hospitality for Clarke County.
She also has some advice for everyone since she became Miss Hospitality.
“Never stray apart from your true self,” advised Foley. “Believe in yourself to the fullest and have confidence knowing who you are, what you stand for, and always remember to spread endless positivity!”
