The 8th Annual Clarke County Kayak River Fun Run on the Chickasawhay River will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 8:00 a.m.
Deadline for ensuring a t-shirt at the event is July 14th. If a shirt is not available on the day of the fun run, one will be mailed.
The fun run will begin at the Quitman Boat Ramp and end at the Desoto Boat Ramp. Shuttle service from Desoto to Quitman will be provided.
Food will be served at the completion of the fun run. There will be a drawing for $250 and other door prizes.
Previous Clarke County River Fun Runs hosted by the Chamber of Commerce were huge successes. Participants came from Clarke, Wayne, Jones, Lee, Lafayette and other Mississippi Counties, as well as counties in Alabama, Louisiana and Florida. Upon reaching their destination on the Chickasawhay, participants enjoyed lunch provided by Chamber volunteers, visited with old friends and made new ones.
