It’s that time of year again for Clarke Fest to take place!
On Saturday, September 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., there will be an abundance of family fun at Archusa Creek Water Park for all to come and enjoy.
There will be booths and events for people of all ages. Kids can take part in “Little Feet Street” for different activities. There will also be bounce houses from Busy Bee Bouncers available for them to enjoy. Different first responder departments will have emergency vehicles on display for a “Touch and See” so that children and others in the community can learn more about what they do. A petting zoo will be available with demonstrations from members of the local 4-H Club. Various arts and crafts vendors will be in the area for visitors to browse through and support.
In a shady area across from the vendors area will be the Annual Paul Brown Memorial Car Show, where everyone can walk through and view the beautiful antique and modern vehicles set on display. Those who choose to participate in the car show will be placed in a drawing for various prizes throughout the day.
For all of the cooks out there, a Wild Game Cook-Off is planned to determine who the best wild game cook in the area truly is. There is a cash prize for the winner of the cook-off.
They also have plans to have a Pie Baking Contest that people can enter.
The Mississippi Loggers Association will be there with a Guess the Weight Raffle that people can participate in.
The Mississippi Band of the Choctaw Nation is also supposed to be there with displays, activities, and presentations. Choctaw Nation Princess Leilani Allen is supposed to be present.
More activities are being added to the list of events daily!
Along with things to do, there will be various food vendors present as well. Visitors can enjoy food and drinks from The Little Griddle, Kona Ice, Sno Biz, and The Pig Out. Other food vendors are also welcome to attend the event.
While enjoying the different food and events available, live entertainment will be provided throughout the day. So far, the following are scheduled to provide entertainment: East Pleasant Grove Praise Team, East Pleasant Grove Women’s Ensemble, Bigbee Boys, Britt Gully & The Water Moccasins, The Sweeneys, Aiden Williamson, and Billy Rascoe.
