The Jones College Bobcat tennis teams won two important matches over Mississippi Gulf Coast here Tuesday afternoon at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.
The No. 12 Bobcat women beat No. 11 MGCCC, 7-2, and the No. 15 Bobcat men downed the No. 14 Bulldogs, 6-3.
Both Jones teams improved to 10-0 overall, 5-0 in the MACCC. Both Bulldog teams are now 5-1 overall, 4-1 in the conference.
Jones hosts Itawamba in a 2 p.m. match on Thursday. MGCCC visits Coastal Alabama-South on Thursday.

The Bobcats have now won 60 consecutive matches vs. MACCC opponents.
Jones got off to a quick start, claiming all of the doubles’ points.
Guadalupe Tocci (Argentina) and Daniela Tovar (Venezeula) defeated Tanyaradzwa Kaome and Angela Moreno in No. 1 doubles, 8-2. Maggie Savell (Park Place Christian Academy) and Allie Johnson (Hernando) edged Hayden Hensarling and Kendall Burn in No. 2 doubles, 8-6. Michaela Anderson (Tupelo) and Reagan Salter (Lewisburg) downed Bayley Austin and Abigail Garman in No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
Tocci beat Kaome in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2 and Tovar rallied past Moreno in No. 2 singles, 3-6,6-4, 10-8. Johnson outlasted Hensarling in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 and Annalyn Housley (Nettleton) beat Garman in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-0. Savell dropped a 4-6, 2-6 decision to Askin in No. 3 singles and Anderson fell to Burn in No. 5 singles, 1-6, 3-6.

The Bobcats swept the doubles’ matches and earned the split in singles.
Tomi Nader (Argentina) and Wallace Brewer (Germantown) defeated Paul Gayk and Owen Stice in No. 1 doubles, 8-5. Charlie Brady (Australia) and Tanner Bevard (Sacred Heart) beat Anderson Dulaney and Orren Ladner in No. 2 doubles, 8-3. Jackson Peoples (Northwest Rankin) and Dawson Do downed Kyle Bond and Triston Hill in No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
Nader defeated Gayk in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 7-6, Brady beat Dulaney in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1 and Do knocked off Chace Bolan in No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-0. Brewer lost to Stice in No. 2 singles, 3-6, 2-4 (default) and Bevard fell to Bond in No. 4 singles, 3-6, 1-6. Peoples dropped a close, 6-3, 3-6, 7-10 decision to Ladner in No. 5 singles.
