Marching Toward Madness
“Immediately the word was fulfilled against Nebuchadnezzar. He was driven from among men and ate grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair grew as long as eagles’ feathers, and his nails were like birds’ claws.” (Daniel 4:33) The King of Babylon marched off into lunacy. Why? Because he failed to acknowledge that God is the true King over the nations. Nebuchadnezzar had taken the foolish step of thinking he was the supreme king of Babylon.
Only a few days ago we celebrated our nation’s Independence. I love the fourth of July. The fireworks, the bands, the gatherings and the parades. However, there is a sad tone that lies underneath our joyous occasion. Like a counterpoint of minor notes underneath a great symphony of hope it rings out. Like Nebuchadnezzar, our nation has been marching off into stupidity, into immorality, and into idolatry. Most of us grew up in a time when it was common sense to know which bathroom to go into, and that wrong is wrong regardless how many fools say it is right.
President Kennedy placed a man on the moon. President Obama placed a man in a ladies restroom. President Lincoln died for overseeing that all men were granted freedom and for standing for the emancipation of our African-American brothers. President Obama, our first African-American president, oversees and supports the murder (abortion) of over 1,800 African-American babies EVERY DAY in America. We are hypocrites when we cry over the murder of school-aged children but turn our heads over the senseless murder of infants.
Congress is filled with puppets. They are connected to special interest groups and have sold their soul and the soul of our nation to the highest bidder. Both political parties have the blood of our nation on their hands. The good ole boy politics of the past 60 years has all but destroyed the American dream for generations to come, leaving our grandchildren with only a glimmer of true freedom. Our grandparents marched off to fight Hitler in World War II. Our generation marches off to madness, electing men without morals, representatives without responsibilities, and senators without sense. Our nation has laughed at God, and now, the joke is on us!
The Apostle James, our Lord’s brother and the early leader of the Jerusalem Church, is said to have had camel knees. That is, his knees were flat from spending time in prayer. We need a generation of ‘camel knees.’ Our nation is on the precipice of self-destruction. Some of our church denominations can’t even figure out if homosexual marriage is unbiblical. We will either begin standing up for God and His Word or we are doomed. We need heaven to pour down revival. Like never before, our country needs rescue. Those who name the name of Christ must step up with boldness. We must stand for truth, or our country will continue…marching toward madness!
