I like reading about the exploits of all the new social justice warriors (sjw's). These special little people are trying to take over the title of ignoramus from the climate warriors when they realized all the climate change that is supposed to be happening isn’t. Like the ones who have been stuck in the arctic ice two years in a row because it was supposed to be melted. Children that run around like Chicken Little believing every press release and trying to prove that calamity is upon us.
One of the latest and greatest terms to be used by the sjw's is cultural appropriation. It's defined online as "the adoption or use of elements of one culture by members of another". It's seen as offensive, notably, when elements of a minority culture are used by members of a majority. It's viewed as oppressing the minority culture, mostly by those who have nothing better to do than go around looking for the oppressed so as to smother them to their bosom.
Trying to be socially justified is not for the faint of heart and whole industries hang in the balance. There are billions of dollars spent on programs to try repair the damage that the unknowing and uncaring have inflicted upon society and the earth. Our college campuses have been turning out special little snowflakes that melt at the least little injustice done to anyone and anything. Shrieking in horror at lesser mankind's ignorance of trashing another cultures differences or using them like their own. Finding fault with every bite of sushi or the wearing of a sombrero. I don't understand how my love of Taco Bell destroys the fabric of Hispanic society but it hasn't lessened my delight of a six pack of tacos and I don't feel chastened when I eat pizza.
I've just read online where you might purchase a Master of Arts in Social Justice. I'm sure there are a lot of parents who would recoil in horror of finding that the thousands of dollars in tuition spent would allow their children to pour coffee at Starbucks on a regular basis. Living in their parent’s basements because minimum wage is all they will ever earn. Paying on their tuition until middle age. No wonder why free college and a $15 dollar minimum wage are popular with the millennials. That and finding fault with everyone else.
Do you think a boot camp for the culturally sensitive would help? I think I could find a staff pretty quick. I believe I could separate those who really mean to help from those who lack sense just by letting them live in a hut with no electricity, running water, or any of the modern conveniences that have been developed by the very ones they seek to chastise. Only using the tools and things from their own cultures. It's my belief that the only cure for entitlement is working for what you get. I might even pay for the experience of watching.
Until next week. ags
