Welcome to the Hotel
This election process is now in the final stages and stands to be the biggest display of cringe worthy verbiage vomitus electimus ever. (That's almost real Latin) With The Donald standing as the presumptive Republican nominee and Democrat Hillary Clinton steamrolling everything in her path this looks like the tickets come November.
I am sure this is a victory for women everywhere to have a woman become a political party's nominee for president of the US. What I am not sure of is if she has the fortitude to finish this. Having what you have lied, destroyed, tried, and fought for all your adult life almost in your grasp with the FBI on your tail has to be causing more grief to her life than she is letting on. She isn't in great health but who would be with all the travel and worry at her age. The list of scandalous behavior is astounding for a nominee but shows the party's adherence to political correctness. It brings out the true meaning of yellow dog democrats that ruled the party in 50's and 60's.
In the other corner is a victory of its own. Never before has a private citizen awakened the feelings that Mr. Trump has in his run. The list of enemies baying before the Trump Tower is impressive in his own right. Oscar Wilde said "you can judge a man by the quality of his enemies". I'm not sure about quality but the quantity is there. All the national press have sharpened their quills and brought out the silverware. It brings to mind that classic Eagles song, Hotel California, and the lyrics "They stab it with their steely knives but they just can't kill the beast". He has been attacked from all corners and shows a propensity to fight back with everything available and not bow under their self-righteous act where they proclaim to be journalists, instead of just a political hack.
"The last thing I remember, I was headed for the door. I had to find the passage back to the place I was before." I can't predict the future but I believe that this is going to be a show worthy of any prize, including the ones given out at the fair. You know, where you spend $40 bucks to get a trinket. Maybe that's a better metaphor for this election. We get what we deserve is usually the way things run here on this ball. We have spent all our class with a leader who would rather spend his days on the golf course and his nights on the Jimmy Fallon show "slow jamming the news". Whatever that is. Things will never be the same. That's my prediction.
"You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave." Love it or leave it used to be a popular slogan. Now you can't even get deported for criminal acts. We have sunk to a low as to be unrecognizable to those of my age and older. It has been headlined that "God is dead". It should be changed to "The Republic is dead". Any and all vestiges of our republic have been stained through autocracy that pervades our government. It remains to be seen if it will ever be clean again. Until next week. ags.
