A Few Observations
More than a few people have asked about writing these columns and how long they take. Reality is that most only take an hour or so to put down. Editing sometimes takes a week. I'd really like to think that I'm this great talent and the reason I'm not syndicated is that it's just a matter of time. I read extensively and I know the reason columnists are syndicated and followed. It's that they are great at capturing their insights perfectly on paper. Truth be told, most of these columns come from mulling (my mom sometimes called it mule(ing) which might fit better) over something I read or saw in the past, or memories that were dredged up from the subconscious. The number of words allowed does keep me from filling up a page in the paper when I'm rambling, which is the tendency.
I really was going to write about the Holy War that is being fought globally against all things not Allah. The laughable presentations of the global news networks and our fearless leaders worldwide that "ISIS is contained" or "We are winning the war" usually ruin my time on here telling stories or laughing about things that are really humorous. It makes me wonder if those in charge had ever played any kind of war games when they were younger children. I can almost see them getting their battleship sunk and running to their safe space to cry and hope it all goes away. When you have almost 2 billion Muslims worldwide, and even if a small percentage is devoted to killing the infidel, it makes you concerned that we might be too late.
Isn't the vote for exit of (once) Great Britain from the European Union stunning? I thought the globalists were fully in charge and our new kindlier and gentler world order was rounding into form. 40 something years of sucking on the tit of Germany and Britain closed out overnight. Imagine the thought that the people who are affected by all this nonsense about global economies and free trade have a voice that doesn't come from the alphabet studios and large corporations. I don't know if all the 96 million Americans that don't have jobs are looking but I personally know a lot who are. I questioned on MS Melanie Sojourner's Facebook page if she thought it was possible that we could exit the United Nations.
This past week was the Summer Solstice which is the longest day of summer, the highest the sun ever gets in the northern hemisphere, and coincided with a full moon. Not to be outdone our weather has gone into full summer pattern mode. Breathtaking heat for a week or two with scattered showers popping up long enough to make the humidity even more than it was. Upon being asked how I stood working out in the heat every day I responded that you get used to it. Actual truth is that I am used to eating regularly and keeping the power on and this is the life I chose, or that chose me. I believe that I was made to mechanic and have been in a service truck for almost 25 years now. I truly enjoy being out on location every day, no matter what the weather.
