The record breaking temperatures through October make me wonder if we will ever be able to enjoy the cooler fall temperatures. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year with the leaves turning colors. Nature is such a beautiful reminder of God’s creation. This coming weekend is also the opening weekend for youth to deer hunt. This is a great opportunity for children to begin a lifelong love of nature, outdoors, hunting and most importantly, gun safety.
If I could control nature’s thermostat, I would set the outdoor temperatures on 50’s during the day and 30’s at night. That would be ideal for me. November is one of my favorite months of the year with Thanksgiving being my favorite holiday.
The changing of the season reminds me of one of my favorite Bible scriptures Ecclesiastes 3:1. And being a fan of cheesy 60’s and 70’s music, the 1965 song released by The Byrds “Turn, Turn, Turn” is a poignant reminder of the turning of the seasons in life.
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”
