Column by Dr. Ann Hollingsworth
It seems that more stuff is coming against us that we need to protect ourselves from. The second round of Covid seems to be more aggressive than the first and toward more groups of people than the first. Busloads of illegals are being dumped closer & closer to us. Biden-economics is hurting and harming more and more. Then this is the hurricane season.
I have always felt that “prevention is the best cure” – and I still believe that. Prevention can lessen the occurrence of bad and builds resilience to get through whatever bad does happen. There are prevention steps that can help with these current bad things.
Covid vaccinations don’t seem to be the cure-all as promised several months ago. So that takes us back to those commonsense prevention steps like good health habits and staying at home and unexposed as much as possible. When we have to be in public, we can wear masks, keep our distance, etc. We can choose less busy times to shop, etc.
Protection against harm from Biden-economics involves common sense and more self-sufficiency in spending. Do we have to go shop for something every day – or can we lump it all together on one day a week? Do we buy some stuff we really can do without? Folks who grew up in the Great Depression or any Amish friends that we have can give us some lessons on how to do this.
Hurricane season is an annual event where we live. We can remember and practice what we have already been taught about emergency preparedness.
Two preventive steps that always work with any problem are to rely on divine intervention through faith in God and keeping a good support system with family, friends, and neighbors.
