For once I agree with one part of Robert Wise's recent Northside Sun's article. That limited agreement is his statement that Winston Churchill stammered early in his career. Yes, he was embarrassed when he could not complete his remarks. But to compare the "elderly man's" appalling debate performance with the young Churchill's gaff stretches the imagination. I agree Churchill went on to be one of the greatest orators in history, but few would agree the same for Biden (unless he used one of his plagiarisms.)
The news has portrayed the President in several cases where he has looked lost after meeting people, or at various ceremonies. The White House has responded that these pictures have been edited to exaggerate the President's problems. But WH supporters have not provided any unedited versions! The appearance of stupor is consistent with his action in the debate.
Soon after his dismal performance Biden made a call to several large donors. In that call he said: "We're done talking about the debate. It's time to put Trump in the bullseye." That statement is part of the vitriolic rhetoric that contributed to this weekend's assassination attempt on Trump. As Tim Scott said: "This was an assassination attempt aided and abetted by the radical Left and corporate media incessantly calling Trump a threat to democracy, fascists, or worse."
Trump has been attacked continuously ever since he ran for office in 1996. As a Washington outsider and a successful businessman, he was not a member of the "club," and therefore a threat to incumbents. Washington DC is 95% democratic and many of its occupants are dependent upon the government for their livelihood. Hillary Clinton's campaign purchased the Steele dossier which proved, she claimed, that Trump had Russian collusion. Later that charge was refuted by the almost two-year investigation by Robert Mueller.
The two-tiered justice system further plagued Trump in the raid of his residence at Mar-a-Largo. The FBI invaded his secure home in the early hours of an August 2022 morning including breaking into Melania Trump's bedroom. They scattered classified documents haphazardly on the floor to give the appearance of careless security for those materials. Then charges were filed. By contrast, Joe Biden kept his classified documents from his vice-presidential years in his garage. That is, they were poorly secured. The special counsel Robert Hur who investigated this case concluded that "it would be difficult to prosecute Biden, who could appear to a jury as a sympathetic, well meaning, elderly man with a poor memory." Well Mr. Wise, do you agree with that finding, or do you think he should have been prosecuted?
