People from all around are invited to come out to Breckenridge Farms, located at 181 Americana Dr., Shubuta, MS 39360, for the second annual Journey to Bethlehem.
This is a three-night event that will go from Friday, December 15 – Sunday, December 17. There will be a drive through live nativity from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. A tent will be set up at the end, and live music will be performed from 5:45 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. before a revival meeting in the tent begins at 7:30 p.m. each night.
The founders of Journey Ministries, Elliot and Kristen Phillips, are excited about what is in store for this year’s Journey to Bethlehem.
“As the second annual Journey to Bethlehem approaches, visitors can expect larger scene setups, and hour and a half of live gospel music, a trailer ride taking them through the scenes as they are narrated, and three nights of powerful messages,” declared Kristen. “Nearly a dozen local churches have joined together to make the scenes possible, along with several businesses offering donations and sponsorships.”
They have different options for those going through the live nativity to be able to better guide visitors through each of the scenes this year.
“Each vehicle visiting will receive a pamphlet as their guide to take them through the scenes,” informed Kristen, “or guests have the option to go straight to the tent, park, and take a trailer ride through the scenes as they are being narrated. Live gospel music will be provided near the tent, in which guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the entertainment before moving under the tent for revival. Water and hot chocolate will be complimentary at the tent.”
Something else new they are doing this year is a food drive along with taking any donations to help fund the events put on by Journey Ministries.
“A canned food drive in memory of Bro. Grady Crowell, which will be given to the Clarke County food pantry, is a new element added to this upcoming event. Food donations can be dropped off at the exit near the tent,” added Kristen. “Donations to Journey Ministries, a nonprofit organization, will be accepted at the tent and the exit or can be made at BankPlus to help offset the cost of advertisement, banners, love offerings for the musicians and speakers, etc.”
Bro. Danny Lanier is scheduled to preach the revival services each night. The music schedule for each night is as follows:
- Friday, December 15: Brandon Rowell Band from 5:45 – 7:15 and Caleb Wright leading worship at 7:30
- Saturday, December 16: Jason Ovenrider from 5:45 – 7:15 and Bryan and Emma Williams leading worship at 7:30
- Sunday, December 17: Sending Hope starting at 5:45 – 7:15 and leading the worship at 7:30
Come out and enjoy this great event! Admission is free.
