Despite the cold weather this past weekend, the MLK Vigil went on as planned Sunday, January 16, 2022, at the Clarke County Courthouse. A group of participants walked from Sumrall Park to the courthouse where the program was held.
Master of Ceremony was Pastor Alonzo Williams, with scripture by Pastor Advial McKenzie. Dre’Anna Davis gave the purpose for the occasion, along with Lynnita Bartee the welcome, prayer by Pastor Washington McKenzie, and song by Jasmine Hilton.
Patricia Arrington gave a presentation, and Bro. De’Marcus Gates sang. Pastor Olivia Jones introduced the speaker, Min. Keontae Carter.
A special thank you goes to Bethany Morris, artist of the MLK mural used in the program.
