Hunt Design Co. has been listed as the best of the best in florals in Mississippi Magazine’s weddings edition.
The company was one of about 15 throughout that was nominated for best florals. After allowing the community to vote, Hunt Design Co. was declared the overall winner. Hunter Bonner, the owner, feels blessed and honored for his new listing.
“It was just very humbling because I would have never thought I’d be considered as one of the best,” proclaimed Hunter. “It’s really an honor. Being 22 and from Clarke County, it’s really an accomplishment and honor to even be considered. It’s just been surreal.”
While he has already been busy, the new listing has assisted in increasing his business even more.
“We’re already getting calls about doing weddings this year,” informed Hunter. “It’s helped pick everything up even more.”
Hunter officially started the company only a couple of years ago, but he was already doing a lot of decorating before he officially started his own company.
“I started it up in June of 2020, and then I bought M&M Florist in December of 2020,” explained Hunter. “It was my first love. I started it first and didn’t know I would be buying the shop later that year. It just happened that way. I started doing weddings maybe four years ago. I started decorating when I was little, though. I started when I was little by decorating the church for Christmas. Over time, they trusted me to let me decorate the church on my own and would ask for me to help decorate for showers and everything.”
While they are acknowledged for florals in weddings, Hunt Design Co. also does decorations for other events and times of the year as well.
“We do weddings, events, and Christmas decorations,” expressed Hunter. “We do bridal showers, baby showers, and engagement parties. We do a lot of Christmas decorating, too. We did a ton more this year than we did the year before.”
Hunter has plans to continue to grow his business and continue the excellence he is well-known for when decorating.
