Three year old Kenson Young was diagnosed with leukemia on October 6.
Since then, he and his family have experienced a whirlwind of emotions and decisions of what to do for Kenson.
“He’s doing chemo every Friday until November 5. Then, he’ll have another bone marrow procedure to see if the leukemia is gone. That’ll let us know which way to go from there,” explained Takeisha Young, Kenson’s mom. “If it’s still there, then there will be more treatments; if it’s not showing, there will be fewer treatments, but he will still have to go for three years as a preventative thing to make sure it doesn’t come back.”
To help offset some of the cost for treatments and gas, Keisha Robinson is selling fish plates and plans to give all the proceeds to Kenson’s family.
“My aunt is doing a benefit for us to help with expenses on getting him back and forth to the doctor and any other things he needs,” stated Takeisha. “He goes to Batson in Jackson.”
The plates for the Leukemia Cancer Benefit will be sold on November 4 at Keisha’s house, located at 235 Leola Street, Stonewall, MS 39363. They are $13 each and will be sold from 11:00 a.m. – until. Each plate will consist of two pieces of fish, cole slaw, baked beans, and cake.
