Several members of the community showed their support and patriotism Tuesday, August 10, by lining up at various locations along Highway 45 to honor Master Sergeant Stephen Doby (UMC, Ret.).
The former Marine tragically passed away in an accident in Missouri, and his remains were being transported back from Jackson to Wayne County by Freeman Funeral Home and escorted by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, some motorcycles, and Sheriff’s Department vehicles.
To honor Master Sergeant Stephen Doby (UMC, Ret.), residents lined the streets at places such as Clarkdale, Rolling Creek, Highway 18, and Desoto waving flags and showing respect as the former Marine made one last trip through the county.
