Cecily Kate Price and Lane Poole Waltman were united in marriage on June 26, 2021, at five o'clock in the evening at First United Methodist Church in Philadelphia. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Ryan McGough.
The bride is the daughter of Kim and Cecil Price Jr. She is the granddaughter of Brenda Matthews, James William (Bill) Yates, Conner Price and the late Cecil Price Sr., all of Philadelphia.
The groom is the son of Cheryl and Gerald Waltman II of Quitman. He is the grandson of Ruby Poole and the late Aubert Poole of Collinsville and Harriet Waltman and the late Gerald Waltman Sr., of Quitman.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, Cecily Kate wore a Theia couture wedding dress of heirloom quality. The gown had a signature fit and flare design with a Bateau neckline, exquisite satin crepe fabric that featured a dramatic open back with covered buttons that followed the sweeping cathedral train. Her veil of bridal illusion tulle and the edges adorned with horsehair braid netting to add body and drama to the veil was custom made by her Nana, Brenda Matthews. She carried a modern bouquet of creamy white calla lilies. The stems were wrapped in a double-faced pleated satin ribbon.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was Rebecca Prince. Gerald Waltman, father of the groom, served as best man. The flower girl was Finley Murphy. The wedding director was Felecia Owens, great aunt of the bride. Starren Jones was the registry attendant. The prelude and nuptial music were provided by Madeline Burdine, vocalist and guitarist.
Following the wedding, the bride's parents hosted a reception at Bridges, The Venue. Suzette Chunn was the reception director. Guests enjoyed dancing to the music by Hitmenz and dined on a menu provided by Beverly Wilkes of Honey Bee's Catering. The snap booth by Jackson Snap Booth at the reception was also a big hit.
The bride's and groom's cakes were created by Cups-N-Cakes of Louisville. The bride's three-tier cake was accented by cascading calla lilies and orchids. The groom's cake was chocolate cake with chocolate icing adorned with chocolate covered strawberries. The table was decorated with snapshots of the couple and a replica of an oil well. The couple exited the reception through a mass of bubbles.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Porterhouse. Guests were treated with appetizers before enjoying a delicious meal.
Following a honeymoon to Seaside, the couple now resides at their home on Archusa Lake in Quitman, Mississippi.
