On February 14th we were able to pass out hundreds of valentines to the local residents at Diversicare, Wisteria Manner, Rest Haven in Enterprise, and swing bed at Watkins. We would like to thank everyone who helped make this happen: Kim Dew for collecting cards from Enterprise Elementary and Shepherd Staff to bring to us, Chad Allen with Clarke County Hot Topics, Quitman Lower Elementary, Enterprise Elementary, Shepherd Staff, and all of the nursing homes in our area for allowing us to bring them for the residents. The schools really showed up and showed out. They exceeded our expectations and helped make this a huge success.
"The kids were excited to make them," state Pam Myrick, art teacher at Quitman Lower Elementary.
“The kids made beautiful valentine cards and it was a joy to see them go out. I’m so glad that we were able to partner with Clarke County Hot Topics to make this happen,” said Belinda Allen.
The residents were thrilled to have the cards that the children made.
“The smiles on their faces when they got the Valentine cards made everything worth it,” stated Brittney Mangum. “The kids definitely helped show them how much they are loved through the cards they made.”
We look forward to doing this again next year!
