A search went out early Thursday morning as a call came in regarding a missing man in Clarke County.
“Around 2:20 Thursday morning, a call was made to dispatch on County Road 154, just off Highway 45 saying there was an 86 year old male missing,” informed Chief Deputy Barry White.
The Sheriff’s Department and Emergency Management immediately responded and developed a plan to locate the missing individual.
“Around 3:00, a command center was set up at the Rolling Creek Fire Department,” continued White. “Rolling Creek Fire Department, Quitman Fire Department, EMA, and the Sheriff’s office met to get a game plan. The Homeland Security Taskforce 2 overland search and rescue team was activated.”
The search team diligently searched the area until they located the missing individual.
“We searched the area all through the early morning hours until around 8:00 when the individual was spotted walking on the right-of-way on 45,” expressed White. “He was picked up and carried back to his residence where Paratech checked him out along with other home health officials.”
Although the search took a while, everything went smoothly, and the individual was found to be okay and was allowed to stay home.
