Both county inmates have been captured after they walked off of work detail from the county landfill on Thursday, September 23. Damian Rose was captured in Pearl River County at his sister’s home. Pearl River Sheriff’s Officers apprehended Rose without incident, and Clarke County officers transported him back to Clarke County jail. Officers also arrested McKenzie Rose, Cody Rose, and Chance Santangelo for aiding escape.
Inmate Bruce Davis was captured Thursday by Clarke County Sheriff's Dept. and Enterprise Police Department. Posts on social media Monday from Davis’ Facebook account made reference that he may be sitting at Newton County School with a gun but was found to be false. Newton County law enforcement shut down the school and checked the campus but found nothing to substantiate the claim.
Michael D. Gray has also been arrested for aiding escape. According to Chief Deputy Barry White, Gray aided both inmates.
“If you are caught helping in any way with the escape of an inmate, you will be charged!” stated White.
