On April 21, 2016 representatives of the Dart Foundation presented a $5,000 grant to the Quitman School District math class of Amanda Reeves. Reeves has developed a new program called Interactive Mathemication 21. The program will consist of small groups of students who will work online activities on I-pads to enhance their studies.
The grant will be used to purchase iPads for a new math program at Quitman Junior High School.
“This grant is a great fit for the Dart Foundation” said Emily Matthews, Dart Foundation Manager. “We are so pleased to support a program that will help local students improve their math skills. This technology will allow teachers to interact with each student at their level of competency which will lead to greater success.”
The Dart Foundation is a private family foundation established by Dart Container’s founder William A. Dart and his wife Claire T. Dart. It supports projects that enhance education, especially in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math, and those that improve the quality of life in specific communities
